Snow Joke

I'm on the verge of finishing a JS1 - Stalin, photos coming soon. I want to do a winter diorama for a change but am struggling with a decent snow effect on the tank. I've tried spraying white acrylic but the tank colour is quite light (drab olive) and it just looks cruddy with no depth. Any ideas or help you can offer would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Maybe Talc?....

Hi Graham;

Maybe some sort of application of talcum powder?
Maybe do some tests on something else... to see what works and what don't.

Thanks George, I hadn't thought of talc. I'll do some experimenting and let you know how it goes.

Let it Snow

I thought David Grummitt did a nice snow scene with a panzer IV:

"The snow is the very good Snow-Cote (made by the Small Shop EU, now distributed through Cammetts in the UK), just sprinkle it on to white glue."

Thanks Greg. I got in touch with Cammetts in the UK who were very helpful and an order of Snow-Coat is on the way. UK postal strike permitting (yes, there is another one) I should be able to get down to it this weekend. Providing I don't make a complete hash of it I'll post some pictures.
