Saw a post on RMS I think that stated that about 600 to 700 were made till the end of the war. They were used after the war by Warsaw pact countries but the hauler kit does not depict the post war version. no doubt that may be a further offering by hauler. if I see any further info I will post an update regards Jim

Meeta,

The Hauler Tatra is the WWII version and there are some good evidences of its use by Germans on Haulers unofficial homepage.

Tatra Model 6500/111

January 5 2008, 12:02 AM

Meeta:
The late Bart Vanderveen, in his book, "Historic Military Vehicles Directory", has two entries for the Tatra. He writes that the Tatra
was "produced in 1943-44 for the German Wehrmacht with standard and universal Einheits cab. Also made as a 6.5 ton (Model 6500/111) with workshop bodywork (integral cab and van-type body) Mr. Vanderveen continues with a full page entry on the 10-ton 6x6 Tatra 111. He writes, "The T111 was conceived in the early 1940s with 6.5 and 8 ton versions for the German forces. After 1945 they remained in production for civilian and miitary use. Many were exported to African, Asian and other countries. Production totalled 33, 690 when terminated in 1962.
In the book "Military Wheeled Vehicles", which was edited by Bart Vanderveen, listed under 1942 Tatra T111, there is a picture with resembles the Haulers model. The text reads: "During the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, the Czech industry was engaged in producing equipment, including trucks and AFVs, for the Wehrmacht. Most vehicles produced were pre-war designs, but the heavy T111 6x6 truck was newly introduced in 1942. The German designation was Tatra 6500/111, 6500 indicating the payload in kgs. Technically these Ledwinka-designed vehicles were very sophisticated and cross-county performance was of a high order.
Hope this info is of some help.
Tom
