Hmmmm.... Very Interesting

Well... since I got this V2 thing started with my Mauve Models questions, I guess it is only fair for
me to mention that I offer 1/48 plans of the mobile launch pad and semi-tracked armored launch
vehicle that are part of the V2 vehicle group above.

It is listed on my AFV NEWS web site as GE-4 on the 1/48 scale drawings list.

GE-4 = Feürleitpanzerfahrzeug für V-2 Raketen auf Zugkraftwagen 8t

with multiple views of the vehicle and the launch pad towed behind.

George; thanks for the mention of the V2 stuff in your drawings...I'm going to need as much reference as I can get my hands on to fix the 1/72 scale Revell and Condor offerings of these items. Steve; really appreciate you showing your V2 stuff. Would love to see more pics, especially closeups. Perhaps you could do an article on the entire sh'bang and give a rundown on what kits you used, construction techs/spec's etc. I'd really get a kick out of it! Chris Schwach

will do, may have some reference stuff for you.......

I have an aweful lot of info available for this project I'd love to share with you. A few items are scratchbuilt and I'll try to put together a bit more info and post more pictures in the near future. Are you familiar with some of the PLANET MODELS 1/72 vehicles available for V-2 support ops?

Steve; Yes, I have been trying to get my hands on some of these items (actually, most of them!) but I'm a bit hesitant to work in resin if I can do the same in plastic. I managed to find the old EDAI 76th kit which is quite nice, if a bit simplified, as well as the old Revell kit with the meillerwagen. I've been sort of cross-kitting, and searching to flesh out my vehicles with as many in plastic as I can. The control van, based on the skid fizz 7, 8 tonner is a piece of crap that PLANET/CMK retails for about 50 plus bucks...and its a copy of the Hasegawa kit, which is grossly out of proportion. I'd just as soon scratch this one based on the more accurate outline in the old 76th EDAI kit. Yes, if you have anything at all, pictures, experiences with any kit, in any scale, I'd sure be interested in hearing and seeing what you have! Thanks in advance; Chris Schwach

Feuerleitpanzer there is one...

January 27 2008, 3:13 AM

Hallo, Chris,

MR Models has a good Feuerleitpanzer as a conversion in scale 1:72 under order number:

MR-72001 Sd.Kfz.7 fire control vehicle V-2 conversion HASEGAWA € 21,50.

Go to

http://www.mrmodellbau.de/

then "MR Models 1:72" and then "Modelle"

I own it and think it is not bad. I could send you a picture if you whish.

Harald
