I'm working on a few different Tamiya Shermans right now and would like to add some detail to the bogies. I've thinned out the skids decently and have more or less hollowed out the track support roller brackets. Anyone have any idea what size Grandt Line nuts to use on the bottom of the suspension bracket?

Number 127's (1 1/2 inch hex nut on bolt, no washer in 1/48 scale) are what I have been using Chris. I have also used .030" styrene rod if you are in a pinch. I also use some heat and smash nuts formed using a "Griffon" gizmo Gar gave me, as they are an inexpensive alternative.

BTW, if you have Grandt #127's the actual parts inside are the same size regardless of the "scale" listed on the package (sometimes these are sold marked as HO scale, but listing larger size NBW due to the smaller scale). The part number appears on the sprue.

I'll check with one of the model railroad shops for that size of Grandt Line hex nut.

....don't tell anyone, but the bolts circling the road wheels on a 1/35 Tamiya Panther are perfect for the 3 bolts on the bottom center of the M4 bogie trucks. And 1 Panther kit will give you hundreds of them........

....but you didn't hear it from me.......

Cheers, Pat

...but, I do have an ancient 1/35 Tamiya Jagdtiger that I've been using for painting practice. And guess what? The bolts from those wheels work just fine!! I'll post some pics tonight. Thanks for the tip!!
