To answer Mr. Perry,I meant no disrespect to our ancestors, I meant ever changing PRECISE dimensions. I think actual complex objects such as tanks differ from any drawings because sub-contractors or inter-actions between older parts and newer parts create unexpected space or practical problems.
To answer Mr. Culver as to the Jagpanther, I have never been able to find a good large profile photo of the jagdpanther to overlay by eye.
Note however how much thicker is the "body" side armour to the "superstructure".
The claim as to the main gun lenght is based on my impression that the actual gun is much larger than on the tamiya kit, therefore of two
conflicting gun overhang dimensions I chose the larger at 3.0 m., since Tamiya was oubviously led astray by something. Even with the shorter dimension it is still short on the order of 6 to 10 mm. but I can't remember.
As for the king tiger having a Jagtiger front end, I will provide photos that are actually to the disfavor of my point, then point out the dead give away; |
