The following text and photos are by "Spanky" MacFarland via Dave Reed:
This is the model I used to beta test the Archer Fine Transfers casting numbers which by the way work really, really well. No Sherman phreak should be without 'em. MV lenses were added to the head lights, I used the Fighting 48 tow shackles, Dioart poster, 2 photo etch parts for the grouser cover vents and lastly a Verlinden .50 cal with the Gasoline gun barrel and also the Gasoline 75mm gun tube. The rest of the model is oob. Headlight and taillight guards were thinned down as well as the horn guard and the vane sight on the turret. Wall is Bayardi- a 1/35th item.
This model was awarded a gold medal at the Richmond IPMS show last Saturday;which by the way;all the armour was judged AMPS style.
Spanky's tank does NOT look like the colors rendered in these photos...I think the color balance on his digi was off. It's really OD and blackish brown. Greens are too green!! But it IS a great job Spanky!!! Loved the roughed up turret!! And the Archer sets really work as advertised!! Wonderful product...the weld seams, too!!! I keep finding uses for them in almost everything I model...planes, railroading, armor...even figures (used the rivets on plate armor on a knight!!)....
Thanks for posting these Isamu.
I should have used the light blue background instead of white then these colors wouldn't look so washed out.The tank is from Sicily in '43 so it's od and earth brown.
