While searching the 48th world wide web, I found this wargammer site talking about 48 kits and a reply by Fox:

The heavy weapons squad is the delay. I didn't want to make the machine guns because I don't like making machines and I'm not very good at it. So, Jim Fox and I tried everything to get someone else to do them and all we got was six months of false starts and frustration. Finally I decided the only way it was going to get done was if I did it and so I'm working on them.

It's even worse than I imagines and I can see why no one wanted to do it.

Here's the American .30 caliber.

The German ones (mg 34 and 42) are about half done then I've got to make all the ammo boxes and stuff and fit the crews to them. Each will be available set up and in transport in metal and resin.

This is the most annoying and tedious work I can recall ever having to do in my entire career.

The lower figure is a portrait of Vic Morrow as Sgt. Chip Saunders on the TV series "Combat."

I just wish he'd release some of the existing figs while he's working on the heavy weapons teams. That would give us something to work with in the meantime.

I emailed him requesting that too. Heck, I can live without the heavy machine guns anyways. Greg
