Couldn't help it, had to put my 2 cents worth in on that forum. But the responses were really good regarding 48th Scale. Great find Chris!

Important to spread around...

April 3 2008, 1:05 PM

Glad to see feedback from you guys at armorama.

I think it's very important, if we want this scale to grow, to spread the word around on other sites like armorama. Participating only on this forum is like the members of a 1/48 scale club getting together and telling each other that they like 1/48 scale... DUH!!!!

I hope to see and more more 48ers participating on other sites so that others will see that there is a substantial interest in this scale.

Cheers
Hisham

Hisham is right......

Hi Mates;

Hisham makes a good point, it's up to us.....the hard-core quarter-scalers, to spread the gospel of 1/48th to as many modellers as we can. This is what will help us all in the long run. I can't understand the negative "vibe" surrounding 48th AFV modelling, there is no such vibe with 1/72, or 1/16.
All the techniques are interchangeable among all the scales, and I don't feel any type of competition at all. In fact, the only difference I see is that we (the 48th crowd) are somewhat more of a "One for all, all for one" mind-set, but I think that comes from the underdog status that has been applied to us as a group, by others.

Keep the faith Lads, and Cheers, Pat

Well I have done my part. My Gaz will get a short article in an up comming issue of MMiR. Infact the Editor has sent me a buch of 1/4 scale goodies, so I would suspect he is open to the idea of more in this scale.

Pat I certainly think he would be interested in some of your work too?

Hi John.....

Hey Mate;

That sounds like a good idea, but Spencer pretty much snaps up every model that I do, for MiS. And Spence is not only a great lad, but he is a HUGE supporter of the scale. He's been real good to me over the last year or so.

But I strongly urge anyone to try and get as much submitted to as many mags as possible., it helps all of us, and I really want the scale to flourish.

Cheers, Pat

Idea????

April 4 2008, 10:51 PM

Hello to all the execellant 1/48th scale modellers. I would like to suggest that mb having a centeral Image bank of all the very fine and inspiring models that the top of the tree modellers who post here and on ML might have some effect to galvanise the scale.

I have to admit to being blown away with the quality of work by Pat , Lucio and Sven to name a few and that mb having a centeral web page with pix of their works in progress and finished articles will help promote the scale.???????

Just a thought as having to trawl through the previous pages is a bit of a pain especially when the pix have disappeared.

Hope i am not saying anything out of place.

Best regards

Paul
