You will love it !

Obtaining this book was a bis jump for me. Many techniques I use are found in this book.

I know it is pricey, but well worth the moneay IMHO.

The DVDs are even cooler, as it is almost like attending a seminar !

Have fun !
Sven

Hi Sven! I saw he came out with 1 DVD so far and was planning a series of them. $50 for the book was no worse than a magazine subscription . I've been going through it this morning and found some new things to try for the recently blown-up JS-2. The best thing about the book is quick and easy reference.

It's a great book. Only thing I can't get my head around is filters. Why would I want to "subtly change the colour"? I've already airbrushed it the colour I want it, I don't want to change it. I'm sure I'm missing the point with the filters, but for now I don't use them.

I think the idea is to blend several colors and to give it a more aged look instead of a paint job fresh off the assembly line.

I hope to get the CD soon

I think the idea with filters is that when you modify a base colour with them, the end result has slight variations in the paint job which helps create the illusion of reality. If you just go straight to that end colour, the base colour will be totally uniform across the model. I guess it's for some people and not for others but either way the F.A.Q. book is pretty darned cool.

I got the book bought me for my Birthday last month and felt at £40GB it was overpriced for what it was.
Plenty of photo`s but i felt there was no link between the photo`s and the text. You are left to figure out which photo a piece of text is referring to as the photo illustrating a point it is not necessarily on the same page as the text describing it. I think that that is where the book lets itself down.
Never the less a useful reference work.
I have not seen the DVD`s yet but they would possibly be a wiser purchase.
