the tank is in the museum and it supposed to be one of 2 Cromwell's the Israeli's used in the war of Independence they were called the "British" company they also had some H-35 tanks fought by the "Russian" Company, both were named by the language the crews spoke.
here is the target, I still need to change the front fenders from the smooth curve to the angled . I attached the forward right sided toolbox because I am not yet up to scratch building the hatch that is shown in the picture. I presume this is a different model Cromwell than the Tamiya kit.
thank you,
The color is about 50% dark yellow and 50% white all Tamiya paint my son said next time just use buff but I think this is just a pinch more yellow. Oh and I found the fenders, they are on the Tamiya British AA tank
the tank I am working on is said to be one of 2 the Israeli's "liberated" from the Brits just before the war. It was still in the British Green.
There is a site showing this one stating that the machine gun was replaced with a pipe and the main gun may have also be changed. finally the rear Hatch may have been replaced at the museum
As for the other one, since it is marked "desert rats" I suspect it is from WWII as many of the other tanks they have. { like all the German models they have. they are supposed to be one of the largest museums of it's type in the world}
Yes, I saw an Israeli site that said they nicked 2 before they shipped out.
The guns have obviously been stripped off seeing the main gun has been welded on the outside of the turret (as opposed to the correct internal fitting desert rats tank.) As for the other changes? Not sure why their main gun is so long either unless someone thought it was supposed to be a 17pdr?
My only guess is battle damage that has been replaced with easy fixes purely for convenience.
