Hi Tim , I am currently making a Sherman VC Firefly with your conversion set.

My question is about the exhausts. In the instructions they are shown at a angle... is this correct or should I fit them horizontally?

Thanks for your time.

best regards

Paul

Exhausts

Paul, the pics I have show them angled inwards , but it was a separate part fixed to the end of the exhaust pipe as it protruded through the grill, so I suppose it could go on at a different angle. I presume it was just to make sure the exhaust stream blew away from the rest of the vehicle structure. I'm at work right now, but I'll post the pics I have tonight.

Thanks

for taking the time out to reply Tim. I am "leery" of gluing things straight off the bat as I had already made a goof with the transmission covers having confused myself with memories that they should be at a angle. Lucky enough I was able to fix that

Thanks again Tim.

Best

Paul

Hope these help! Note, the curved plate in the kit is the top one, above the pipes. The one below it wasn't always fitted, or got lost, and the slatted arrangement on the third pic was added later. Tanks are, the Crab at Bovington, Crab at Overloon, and Firefly at Bovington respectively. The tube and cable in the last pic is a light for the engine bay, for when the doors are open.

OK, I'll admit it, I ran out of room on the etched brass sheet! Easy things to knock up from thin aluminium foil, plastic sheet or brass if you need them.
