Tamiya Tiger II, 99% Complete.....

Hi Lads;

A while ago, I asked for some ideas for the paint scheme I would be applying to my Tamiya King Tiger.
Well, I thought it over a bit, and I decided to go with Lu's idea for red primer w/ camo yellow. However, I must give my sincere thanks to all the guys who posted with suggestions.

Here is the model before paint....

...And here it is now, I am thinking about a crew commander & some bits of stowage, but here is the basic model, done......

This model was inspired by the awesome Panther IR that Sven Frisch did last year, and painting & weathering a red tank was a somewhat..... interesting experience, but it was loads of fun.

All feedback is greatly welcomed, and thanks in advance for looking.

Cheers, Pat

When I grow up, I want to build models just like you.

I really like the oxide primer.

Typical Pat...Superb!

Hi Pat! I really like the scheme you picked. I especially like the chalk effects you put all over it. Not solid lines, but just that nifty broken "chalk" like effect. Definitely a winner in my books.

Ken

Tigers and Tigers and Tigers, Oh My.....

I reckon Pat has a 'Shrinkomatic' ray gun in his tool box. That isn't a real model at all, it's a real tank! Small!

Okay, Pat, 'fess up. How did you do those "chalk-like marks?" A really sharp white pencil? Or did you shrink yourself and write them down with like-wise miniaturized chalk?

This is an effect that I could find a lot of uses for, so I really want to know!!!!

Isamu

p.s. It goes without saying that this is one heck of a great looking model!

Your details are always a joy to look over. I want to know your picture-taking techniques. Congrats & I'll vote no scene or figures are necessary with this one,
Greg

"Here's photos of the unfinished model... and BAM! Here's the finished thing." Honestly, Pat, do you just sneeze and little elves magically appear and do the work for you?

Will try it now... Achooo! Aaaachooo!
