Hello all,

I'm compiling information on museums with Axis WW2 equipment on my site, the http://www.axishistory.com and I'd appreciate any help with additions (text or photos) or corrections to the material. The best way to contact me by email by marcus@skalman.nu

The museums section can be found at
http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=56

Thanks.

/Marcus

I was just in Germany and the HORCH Museum in......

Zwichau has an old Horch type staff car in a small diorama setting that is really neat in that it is not restored and set in a bombed out street setting. I'd have to go thumb through my photo album for a positive ID.

Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo has a museum (Yushukan) of war artifacts that includes many rare weapons. Among them are the following:

- A Suisei (Judy) dive bomber
- An A6M5 model 52 Zero fighter
- An Ohka II suicide rocket bomb
- A Kaiten suicide torpedo
- A Type 97 medium tank

Some photos are available on the following web page:

Both base Borden north of Toronto and the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa have German armour.

Thanks, Marlowe. Do you have any details on which types of Axis vehicles they have on display?

You can ask Garfield and Konrad. they took a trip there several years ago. In fact, if we ask very nicely perhaps Konrad will post the picture of him on the Panther. They also have a Wirbelwind and the 49th Hetzer produced. Try doing a Google search using Camp or Base Borden as keywords. I don't know waht the War Museum in Ottawa has on display now, but in the 70s they had a Jagdpanzer IV and I think a Semovente or other type of Italian tankette.
