I just took my 1/48 Tamiya Hummers.
The figures are absolutly awfull... and underscaled.
look like 1/60 scale.
The rest is cute, and i'm working for some updates kits for next week.
My hummer drivers and soldiers fit perfecly on Tamiya

What is the main difference

September 15 2008, 1:25 PM

Marc: How are you. I´m still working in your Hummer Kit, but I´m curious about the Tamiya One. What is the difference between them and yours. I´m mean the detail, size, etc.
Thanks

Tamiya Vs P.K. Hmmwv

September 15 2008, 3:15 PM

The main difference between Tam and PK is that Tamiya M1025 is in plastic...
The kits are same in overall form...
But there's some lack of details
That's reason I'm preparing some update for tamiya ,

like:
-open cargo doors
-resin wheels
-Resin wheels with centralised air regulation
-Correct Dashboard
-Front winch

More, these items will be ready next weeks:
-Conversion M998
-Conversion TOW
-Conversions Dumvee
-Conversions Up armoured Hummer

For the next, it's a surprise...

Interesting...

Does the uparmoured conversion include new doors, roof, armoured turret, smoke launchers, front cover etc? It'squite an extensive conversion if it makes an accurate M1114. Or am I being optimistic, and are you making an M1025 with ASK, which would still be a very welcome conversion.
On a prospective buyers note, I've never bought any of your products. Has anybody here got any experience with PK products?

All the best ,
Matt

Great models

September 17 2008, 8:44 PM

I buy a lot of models from PK and they are great resin models, great detail. The very big problem is the fragility in the small pieces, it is because the real scale in the guns and other detail produce very thin accesories that some times get broken if you dont take with care. It is very recomendable.

Looking forward to the M1114

Thanks for that David. I'll be tempted to make a few conversions when Tamiya releases the Hummer as a seperate kit.
All the best,
Matt
