I was at a show at Sutton-coalfield(UK)over the weekend and was talking to Nigel.
His P.E. set for the Valentine is now available. Below are the images he sent me.

It`s a cracking little set, unfortunately i cannot remember the exact price but they are roughly just under £5.00(GB)a set.

Apparently Gaso.line have purchased some Valentine kits from Nigel and will be releasing them under there own banner with an update set, much the same as they did with the 88MM gun. This set will include Resin Tracks which should be available seperately.

The first batch of Parabellum 1/48th white metal figures are at the casters and should be available soon. This first batch will be of British WW2 AFV crew and infantry which will be sold individually.

Also they now stock the full range of the elusive BlackDog accesories which are roughly about the same price as the compatable Hauler sets.

Sorry about the tiny images, its the first time that i have posted images onto the forum and have not quite got my head around Photobucket yet. I will replace them with larger images online once i figure out how to.

for five sets. Does anyone know if the old PE sets for the Bandai 88mm gun are still available? I could use four of those as well.....

PE Sets...

September 23 2008, 2:55 PM

I too sent an email to Nigel requesting one set. Sorry, that's all the Valentines I have! BTW, if anyone can find any of those 88mm old Bandai PE sets as Bruce requested, I would be interested in 3 myself!

Re: PE Sets...

I've asked Nigel how many Vals he has left, and possibly a Bishop conversions, as that would be a cool variant. Haven't heard back from him yet, he's usually never superfast on the e-mail. Hopefully he's busy filling orders.

If anyone does find an 88 set, or any other old P/E set, at least check to see if Jan can do a copy of it first so that everybody can use it.

Hauler PE.....

September 23 2008, 7:04 PM

While it seems like a good idea to have Jan copy an old PE set, bear in mind that he would have to make a minimum number for the sets to be affordable. Nigel had to go to a run of 200 PE sets for the Valentines so each set would be affordable. Apparently there is a warehouse somewhere with Valentine kits in it , but I seriously doubt there are that many Bandai 88s out there, and you'd have to convince all the people who have them to buy the PE or you'r be sitting on brass for the rest of your life. It's not economically feasible, unless you can sell most or all of the PE.

A couple of questions on this thread...please read!!

September 23 2008, 8:15 PM

Does anyone know if the Gasoline 88mm. is a resin re-pop of the old Bancai kit??
Did Nigel re-do the old Frog P/e set that was out for the Bandai/Fuman kit(Mine went to the UK...I can't check!)
Would there be any interest in a redo of the Frog 88mm. P/e set as a sprueless Photo etch set??
I also have the decal set that Frog did for the Val....and have offered it to Fighting48 to redo and release under his banner- with maybe more markings.....
Anyways, Oliver, Nigel, ANYONE....feel free to chime in, either on site or off, to me directly.

88mm PE

September 23 2008, 8:24 PM

You know I'd be good for 3 sets of 88mm PE! I wonder how much the PE set would go for on Ebay...there seems to be 88's being sold every now and again!

Gaso.line 88 is not a copy of Bandai kit. Anything in common is 'cuz they are both 48th scale 88's of course!

R.E. Valentine P.E. Set

September 24 2008, 3:40 PM

Dave, From what i understand this is a new set but was based on the old frog set with all the useless bits taken out. But It`s not an exact copy as Nigel has tweaked it himself. Nigel has taken a gamble and ordered an additional 200 sets from Jan to bring the price down somewhat.
Nigel puts frog decals (or copies of) in with the Vals he sells as the original Fuman decals are not in good shape.
The 88`s are fast becoming rocking horse poop, so unless someone finds a warehouse full of them, which he can sell on cheaply i cannot see there being sufficient demand to justify a new p.e. set.
Bear in mind that Jan will only do a minimum run of 200 sets and the more he does the cheaper they are. It may be possible to get someone to do a short run of say 50 sets but the cost would be astronomical.

Tim, if you read this, would there be any chance of doing a track set based on the TechMod set? It just needs the guide horns spaced further apart.
