Does this mean Iron Division's 1/48 line has not gone out of business?

Limited Runs

September 25 2008, 9:57 PM

I think Bob will only be doing limited run items now. I think the previous stuff may be done with now. Keep checking his website so you don't miss anything.

Not out of business

September 26 2008, 4:25 PM

Just reworked ,sort of. The old line is gone, never to be seen again. You may notice that some of the sets advertised look alittle familiar, however the parts in them are slightly reworked and more parts added. As a result, the prices increased alittle. This was the only way to keep the line going and add totally new stuff to it. All the kits advertised will be limited runs, when they are gone, they will be really gone. I may start releasing the Sherman sets early, but won't guarentee anything. Still sitting on too many orders from the old line that I have to finish. I'm also working on the Mid-Production M4A3 and late Big Hatch M4A2 with a 76mm turret.

Woo Hoo!!

Bob,

It's great to see that your 1/48th scale line is quite dead. I'm looking forward to one of the Panthers (not sure which yet) and most especially the M4A2 (can you say "MIER"!!!)

Looking for the silver lining

September 26 2008, 6:34 PM

Hi Guys

Although I'm glad to see Bob is still active I'm sorry to see the old line go.

Way back I was one who asked for corrected E8 suspension frames. They were announced. I waited. I was made redundant. I applied for jobs, attended interviews etc... I get a job...the only problem? I got the job confirmation three days AFTER the deadline and didn't have any spare cash to risk an order before.

Still at least I'm employed now which has to be a good thing?

Is this another example of the Law of Sod just like the vital reference that shows up the day after you finish a model?

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Hoarderman....

Hey Nicholas! Don't worry too much about those E8 suspension frames. I think I ordered a set (can't be totally sure until I get the order) and will probably not use them (I ordered just about one of everything just to be on the safe side). If I didn't order a set, I'm sure someone in the 48th community may have an extra set or two. Hang in there until I get my order from Bob. We'll talk turkey then!

I love a silver lining.....

Hi Big Bob;

As I told you the other day, I think this is a great idea, the limited runs on full out conversions. You can put me down for many, and the increase in your prices...well, your prices on your site are still great!

Stick with this, Mate, and I'll say it out loud for all, your products are just too good to lose. I wish you all the best in this venture, and I'll be buying from you often.

Three cheers for Bob, one of the good guys.

Cheers, Pat

Welcome back Bob..........

A small but ever changing limited run range eh... At least it will allow you to stay in control of your life. I can (just about)live with the price increase.
I`m not a big fan of German big cats (says he who has 3 Tigers in his stash!) but those Panther conversions have really got my attention.

quality versus price

September 27 2008, 7:52 AM

While a high price is no guarantee of top quality, there are some products out there which ARE top quality, and we as consumers should recognise that quality, and be prepared to pay a fair price for it. Bob has been able to bounce back from the edge, which is lucky for all of us! If a higher price is what is needed to keep his range going, then I for one will be more than pleased to pay it. I'd far rather that than the alternative.....

Tim
