Hi All;
As I slowly digest my first Marder III it is interesting to see just how far Tamiya has gone this time. The plastic hull and metal insert weights are one thing... but the last thing I expected was handed towing hooks.
Be aware that each hook has a different sized hole. The Right positioning hole is larger than the Left one. This is because the 38(t) hooks curl outward like a pig's tail... and Tamiya has tried to ensure that we get them right.
Also watch for the 4 missing holder tubes on the rear of the basket. These are intended to hold the seats when loading up etc, and Tamiya has been forced to leave them off, because they supply seat backs with the tubes attached.
Works fine if you just want the seats positioned on the rear of the basket, but if you put the seats in place behind the breech, you will have to glue little tubes on behind the basket.
It's very encouraging to hear such positive statements about the latest Tamiya release, especially since the criticism of some of their past kits were is that they have been rather indelicate.
