Has anyone used hot or boiling ot water to thin acrylic paints? I was thinking that the heat might "melt" or soften the pigment particles to produce a smoother flow for airbrush application.

Won't work

Marlowe, I do believe that Hot Water will cause rapid evaporation of the Acrylics. Try regular windshield washer fluid, the type for cars which is sold in gallon jugs. Works beautifully for me on all types, Model Master, Tamiya and Badger. It can be used for thinning or cleanup. Vinegar and warm water also works really good for cleaning airbrushes when using acrylics. Hope this helps.
