Hey gang -
Take a look at the latest post on the Track 48 "What's New" page. I thought the message was a pretty nice personal touch.
It also sounds good for continued support for the 1/48th line, reboxing of other companies' kit not withstanding. It's nice to have something to fire back at the "Tamiya is giving up 1/48 armour" rumour-mongers
That's kinda nice. I feel like Tamiya just tossed a bone our way. I look forward to parting with more of my hobby money as Tamiya continues to release 1/48 scale subjects. Now where's my Tilly!
And it was said they didn't care what the little people thought. That's really great recognition for the Track48 site too. That IS really COOL. Happy holidays Mr.T,
Greg
Very kind gesture. I thank you right back for making this stuff in this scale. 1/48 is the perfect combination of detail and size and as a beginning modeler its perfect for me and I will continue to support for a long time.
I think it's the first time I've ever seen ANY company publically acknowledge what's essentially a bunch of cranky old gits with opinions on what they do, be it good or bad. It's real nice of them, though. What warranted this, just out of the blue? Is it from Tamiya USA, or actual Tamiya HQ?
Hello Tamiya people! If you're reading this, THANK YOU for giving us this hobby. Now, get the genius/captured alien/shrunk engineer you got to do the Marder and get on the wish list we've put together.
I too don't recall ever seeing a model company thank it's customers like this. Kudos to Tamiya! Other model companies should take notice of this approach.
I guess Tamiya will continue to get more of my money than any other model company. Next up, Tilly and Marder.
Maybe we are just a bunch of fools going against the -1/35- tide, but it seems that someone wants to express gratitude for our "fight".
My gratitude to Tamiya Staff too, for the many great moments they are giving us to enjoy an to Meeta, Garfield and all the usual contributors to this forum too.
How nice to hear this! I'm intrigued; was this message out of the blue? And just to Track48? I haven't seen anything similar on any of the other forums/ fora? (Old Mister Booker my latin master would be horrified to know I can't remember which it is....but then I can't remember a lot of things nowadays. Or so people tell me. I wouldn't know!)
I just posted the rest of the article featuring Masanori's tour shots of Tamiya. (Gaston-yes, there is definitly something wrong with that Panther!) Juuuuust kidding!
I am VERY pleased to see that we are on the radar scope and hope Tamiya will feel welcome on these pages.
Three cheers for Masanori!
Garfield

Masunori, many thanks indeed for raising our profile with Tamiya. I trust you had a really interesting visit to the factory, and that you didn't burn your fingers on the mouldings coming out of that injection mould machine! And the shop had a 50% reduction?! Wow!
Tim
PS Has anyone here ANY idea of how much that JPS Lotus must be worth? The real one, not the plastic kit....

Masanori: I could not agree more with Garfield and all of the folks in this thread; we can't thank you enough for taking the time to mention us in you visit to Tamiya. We are thrilled and very grateful for your generosity in recommending Track48 to the folks at Tamiya. It is an honor to receive their recognition and it would not have been possible without you.
I agree this is great to hear that tamiya must follow comments etc on this site. I often wondered if various companies follow what is said on the various forums. Well we now know at least Tamiya checks out what people are saying so thank you Tamiya. It also means we are not wasting our time when we respond to a wish list survey. we can all sleep a little better tonight. regards Jimbo
Wow! Great to hear a word from Tamiya about how our input is making a difference. It would never have happened, at least as nicely as we have seen it, without the past and present efforts of our two special Track48 gurus; Garfield and Konrad. Great work guys! And a special thank you and kudos to Masanori for his fabulous work in 1/48th scale; some of the finest modelling in the WORLD in ANY scale. Chris Schwach
