Hi George,

Just finished reading your Rommel's Afrika Korps - El Agheila to El Alamein.

Great read, lots of great pics (especially for modelers), lots of great profiles, and lots of inspiration!!!!

Makes me want a Carro Armato M.11-39 so that I can put kangaroo markings on it! happy.gif

Hi Isamu;

Sorry, but I just came across your message today.
Since I was in the hospital for heart surgery Dec. 3 to 5, I missed this thread altogether.
Glad you liked the Afrika Korps book.

Hi George,

I don't think you need to apologize for anything. It's not like you were ignoring me on purpose or anything. happy.gif

Everybody else: Anybody who is interested in modeling vehicles used in North Africa NEEDS this book!!!!! It has the most bang for the buck of any AFV book that I have ever read. There might be better options from George's point of view, but I got it from Amazon:

Rommel's Afrika Korps - El Agheila to El Alamein

Best,
Isamu

Like Isamu, I ordered George's book. It IS great....sooooo much info to digest....awesome charts....Want to know who had What...When...and Where?? It's in here!!
At the same time I bought Ian Baxter's Images of War-Afrika-Korps.....another visual feast that has sooooo many pictures I haven't seen.....and both books offer so many modelling ideas!!
I had posted something back around Christmas....in one book is a picture of the Has. BMW....loaded up with stuff on the roof...in a line of vehicles heading across the desert!! Talk about a great dio idea!! Not your shiny version parked next to the Ace's aircraft...that's for certain!
Congrats George!! It really is all I could ask for! Another book that will be pulled off the shelf...a LOT!!!!
Dave....so glad the surgery went well, too!!!

I too have ordered both George's book and the Image at War: DAK book. These both look like keepers to me!

as of about three minutes ago.....happy.gif Glad everyone thinks these are great books to have. Much of my modeling interest is North Africa, so these will come in handy. I already have the big DAK color photo book, ad it has a lot of very interesting shots.
