I have an idea for a future what if build based on a T34/85 I wanted to run by you all. I will use a Hobby Boss T34/85 and put on a 122mm barrel. I hope to add the bed spring stand off armor. I don't think anyone makes a PE set for that stuff,so I would get some 1/48 fine mesh and wing it from there.


The idea behind the what if tank is............ An assault tank,like the M4 or M4A3 105mm Sherman. But my idea is for the Soviet forces to use a T34/122mm howitzer tank for say the Battle of Berlin.


I figure in city fighting,a long barrel would be a hindrance.Plus having a revolving turret vs an SP howitzer,like the SU 122 would be of help.I would also leave off the external fuel tanks.Those would be a hazard in city fighting.

Hi Chad, Egypt did the long 122 barrel in the 80's I saw a model of - I'll see if I can do a pic later. The short barrel sounds like a good idea.
