I'm in California and would like to order some Sherman 'Duckbill' tracks from FIGHTING 48. Does anyone in the US handle this line? I've had some bad experiences trying to order from overseas and as a result I haven't ordered anything for years. I'm not sure I want to attempt it again. I don't even know the conversion rate.

Hi Bruce! I have ordered numerous stuff from Master Tim and have had no trouble getting it to me here in Canada. I don't really know the exact conversion for UK pounds, but for me the old adage applies...if you want it, get it now as it may not be there later. I was emailed by Tim that his UC carrier track were ready to purchase and I bought 3 more for my UC collection!

I second Ken's opinion. I ordered several times from Tim and had nothing but very positive experience. Every time it the order was placed online (through his website), paid using PayPal, shipped to the US via airmail and it was delivered pretty fast (faster than I expected).

At the moment, I am only selling my products directly to the customer, via this website www.fighting48th-shop.com . You can make your payments via a Paypal account if you have one, or a credit or debit card, and this is handled by Paypal as well. If you are not comfortable making payments online, there is also an option to send the payment some other way, and the website just tells me who you are, what you want, and for me to look out for the payment! Then just send me an IMO, Cheque (in sterling, drawn on a British bank, so probably not appropriate for customers outside the UK) or even old-fashoned paper money, £, $ or Euros, I'm easy to please when it comes to cash!!  However, sending cash through the post is not really to be recommended.

To be honest, the credit/debit card is now so secure, it is probably the safest way to make such transactions, I've never had a problem with it, and it takes, literally, a few seconds between you clicking on the order button and me getting the e-mail to say mail the goods. And if I am at the PC at the time, that is exactly what happens! If I have the items in stock of course.

What I would ask is that you DO NOT e-mail, or mail me with your credit card details!!!  e-mail is most definitely NOT secure, and a mail or fax with your card number, security number, address etc is a gift for a criminal; and I can't process them anyway!

I do try to get orders away as soon as I can, but sometimes I do run out so there might be a slight delay while I remake moulds and so on. I'll let you know if it going to be a while. Everything I sell is covered by a full money-back guarantee, so long as you haven't started it, and if you break or loose anything let me know and I'll do my best to sort the problem out.

Exchange rates at the moment are just bonkers, and as I live and work in the UK where the £ has gone into free-fall, especially against the Euro, I hope my products have become a bit more attractive pricewise to customers outside the UK! It is an ill wind...
