Someone (other than Tamiya). Needs to make injection moulded tank crew figures. Tamiya gives you a crew but you get them with a bunch of sometimes unwanted others. I just want cres figures.
Sure there are $20 + resin, but a single sprue of figures (with separate arms and heads) would be nice. Co'mon ICM, AFV, Italeri, somebody. There is a market.
I also build in braille scale (1/72). At least we're lucky there is something in 1/48...nada, and I mean nada in 1/72.

Crew figures

You might find some of the old Bandai figures on eBay, otherwise I'm afraid it is resin or metal. The price of these reflects the fact that they are essentially hand produced, and sculpted, and moulded, and so not suitable for mass production like injection moulding. But moulds for injection mould cost a small fortune to make, and you have to be sure of selling thousands of sets to be sure of getting you money back! Tamiya are taking a calculated risk with the kits and figures they are doing, but they could afford to bank-roll it until it starts making a profit. I think they are unique in that position.....

Tim

PS have a go at converting some of the Tamiya figures to suit your own requirements. Half the battle is knowing what YOU want, rather than waiting for someone else to do it....

PPS Have a look at Roberts (elanlane) post below, to see what we have put on the market!

In 1/72 Dragon has released their "Achtung, Jabo" 1/35 figure set in the Panther G kit (1/72). I think it's called the 'Pro modeller' series. These are extremely well done figs in 1/72 and are accurate scale-downs of the larger set. They have also released the Battle of the Bulge Fallschirmjager figure sets, also in 1/72, with their Tiger ll kit. happy.gif
