Has anyone else had this problem? I've talked with a few people who have built it saying they had to use super glue since model cement dose not work on the kit so I tried it myself and sure enough nothing seems to work short of super glue
If you go to the REVIEWS section of Track48, you will see a review I did of this kit, that answers all your questions. Thanks to Konrad who did a little digging about, we have the answer in the review.
When I built this kit, the plastic reacted perfectly fine to Testors liquid cement in the jar, no problems whatsoever. My example was definitely molded in styrene, not ABS (I built a Trumpeter Type 95 tank a few years ago, which WAS molded in ABS, so I'm familiar with the differences). The only thing I can conclude is there might have been 2 production runs, with the one I got in styrene. I did not have any issues with the kit (even fit -- a well criticized issue -- wasn't too bad and the only area I had to employ filler on was the hull roof).
