Simply put, "anyone's guess" as to the date of release. If you have followed the threads on this forum about how hard it is to find the supposedly already released Ausf. C model, you will see no one really knows when a given AFV Club kit will turn up at the LHS.
I have had my AFV Club kit since the first of March. This was supplied by Meeta in Canada. They turned up in my LHS by mid March. Yet apparently the kit still hasn't made a general appearance in the UK, for example, and US distributors ran out after the first shipments dried up.
I am willing to bet, sadly (I like AFV Club), that the Tamiya 251 Ausf. D will appear in most LHS before the AFV Club version does. Not necessarily a bad thing, unless you are AFV Club! The Tamiya kit is due out late June, it seems, or early July.
