It's a while since I posted the first announcement, but now it's on there website. Barrels shall be from RB Models, I think.
Valentine Mk.VIII / IX with 57mm QF gun
Valentine Mk.X / XI with 75mm QF gun
We have two new complete kits of the British Infantry Tank Mk.III Valentine in our MR Models 1/48th scale range on schedule. Because conversion sets for the old Bandai kit with limited availability will need some time consuming conversion work, we have decided to manufacture both Valentine variants of Mk. VIII / IX and Mk.X / XI as complete kits with P.E. parts and decals (for British, Soviet and French vehicles). Other Valentine variants are possible later.
Yet I understood him, that he also thinks about a Mk.V with the 2pdr gun after the Mk.VIII/IX and X/XI version with 6pdr/OQF 75mm gun. The late Mark Valentines where used in Tunisa by the Brits for example:
Yet huge numbers where sent to Russia as part of the Lend-Lease deliveries.
If you look into the IWM collection you will find some images of Mark IX/X/XI gun tanks wich where used as command tanks with British Archer TD units in Germany.
Frank, you might want to remove the images and replace with text links instead. Nacht who runs the Afrikakorps.org site isn't too keen on hotlinking from his site.
The bridge layer version would certainly make my day, although if memory serves correct, this was mounted on a MkII or MkIII hull. Would it be difficult to backdate a later version to the MkII?
Bruce Geoff posted this image a while ago at M-L showing the Valentine Mk.IX tank his father served in in 1945. It was the command tank of a unit of 4 Archer SPGs:
Just a short not. As there seems quite some demand to get conversions rather than full kits, it is likely that MR Models will offer conversions as well as seperately sold updates for the Bandai/Fuman Valentines as cheaper option beside full kits. Also the metal barrels will be from a different supplier, say not RB Model as I was told today. This way the conversion kits would be a bit cheaper and therefore more interesting if you have some Bandai/Fuman Valentine kits in your stash. Matthias hopes to post some images of the bigger components like turrets on his website in July with regular updates as he is very busy currently.
