Good news,

You can see pictures of these items if you look at the last two pages in the 1/72 resin section.

Prices

They do seem to want to keep their prices under wraps.

It may not be starting as fast as we'd like......

June 21 2009, 4:24 PM

but it IS starting..... Other companies are seeing the potential of a new "undeveloped" scale, and they are going to dip their toes in the water to see if it's warm enough to swim. At some point, major investments will be made, and then there will be real competition for our model interests. Tamiya did not make a lot of really good armor kits until the superb quality of the classic Italeri kits of the 1970s, and the advent of the Peerless-MAX stuff, forced their hand. It was the era of Tamiya "toys" like the old Kubelwagen amd Daimler Dingo scout car with metal axles and no real underbody detail. Tamiya has already moved away from the die-cast chassis tubs and into more and better detail. They just need a bit more of a shove to keep them moving in the right direction. It will be better for them as well as the scale.

Wow, they got some cool stuff and artillery and the hand-fired weapons are an area that is lacking. Still waiting for the FIGURE REVOLUTION in 1/48 to begin in plastic.

its getting better but?

June 22 2009, 7:06 AM

we could do with a nice pak 40 and some nice late shermans as the hobbyboss ones are hard work to fix and some early panthers and maybe some american half tracks and acouple of the bgger german ones would be nice .As for figuers it would be good if dragon would stick the toe in as their 35th stuff is very nice and if they can do it in 72nd with a kingtiger thrown in why not 48th the true scale .have fun wayne

I'm keen to get my hands on the 4805 - 4,7 cm Pak 36 (t) Late version kit

So far I've heard only good words on the Attack kits and they look nice on the images.

While some nice stuff, about half of it is rather obscure (and for some the Czech cannon is fairly obscure as well). One of the things I feel holds back this scale is the desire by manufacturers to release obscure conversions, like Holtzgas kubelwagens, rather than Panzer IIIGs. Maybe I'm just missing the point of it all then...

Damon.

Panzerjäger I

June 22 2009, 10:56 AM

You're right but the German made good use of many weapons
from different countries and the Czech 4,7cm Pak 36(t) was
a potent AT gun, which was used for the Panzerjäger I:

[linked image]

Aside from this many companies seem to go for niche products
either because they produce items interesting for the people
in the country they are located (Czech etc) or because they
only want to make investments in things unlikely to be kited
in injection molded plastic at any time.

I'm happy to get this gun as can be used for dioramas situated
in the early war period to the beach defenses and fighting in
Normandy, say those guns were used everywhere from Russia to the
bunkers located at the French coast and even Africa.
