Will not come soon enough!
Sorry, but this is just a damn shame these figures have not been released after 2 years. I started watching some of the old "Combat" shows on VHS my dad had and it made me think of the figures again.

If the guy hates making mechanical elements for his masters, he should look into getting them made micro-mechanically. There are plenty of appropriate technologies out there. Have a look at http://www.microfabrica.com/pages/index.php if you want your mind blown! He seems to prefer making slugs. Ah well. Judge not lest ye be judged.....
For the love of Shermans, why didn't he go for etched PE for all the lettering on the box? I mean, you're hardly going to be able to see the lettering on the actual 1/48 scale box. I know, it's the artist's choice, but on a large project like this, it's way more efficient to do the creative sculpting a machine can't do, and let the machines do the mechanical stuff they can do better. Well, it IS beautifully done. But, if it took him longer to do than a whole figure from scratch, it isn't what I would be doing. But that's me. On the other hand, I couldn't do what he does if the ghost of Michelangelo sat on my shoulder.....
Tamiya should make him an offer he can't refuse, and produce these for the masses. The lack of interesting & usable figures really hurts the diorama potentials of this scale. Dreaming on....
I suspect employing such an amazing genius would be a nightmare for the employer. Employers need schedules, and plans, and deadlines. This chap is clearly marching absolutely to the beat of his own drum! Stunning work, but impossible to commercialise.
Honestly it would be fine with me to dribble them out - that's pretty much what any manufacturing company does How about it Fox - make a start and sell us the ones's that are done.
