Hi All;

Looking back, I realized that I totally forgot to post images of a build that I did almost a year ago. Well, I worked on this a bit at a time, between other projects, and now I can call it finished.
If anyone out there has any doubts about the quality of Tim's Fighting48th products....rest assured, buy them! Tim has probably the very best resin I have yet used.
This project used his Sherman M4A4/VC conversion, his T62 tracks, and a sheet of Bison decals for Kiwi markings, also from Tim's shop.

What do you get?

A very nice, and accurate, VC Firefly.

I finished mine as a Kiwi machine in Italy.

Iknow this should have gone into the Assembly Line DG, but this is intended more as a plug for Tim, than a build blog.
My hat is so far off to Tim, Lad, that the light from impressed would take 1000 years to reach him.

Excellent work, Tim. I can't wait to sink my teeth into your next venture.

Cheers All, Pat

Thanks Pat!

Garfield, can we have a blushing smiley icon??!

Pat, it might take a craftsman to make good canvases, but it takes an artist to paint the picture.

The pictures are wonderful of course, many thanks for posting them. I know I've said this before, but one of the biggest buzzes I get is seeing the work of someone who clearly loves what he does. If there is an FF48 product in there somewhere, that's good too obviously! But this is a great model!

Tim

PS Don't worry, Project X progresses....

How hard are resin tracks to work with? I will be trying out his resin tracks for the first time as soon as the T54 duckbills become available!

Re: Tim's tracks....

Hi Pat;

Worry not. Tim's track sets are direct drop in's for the Tamiya tracks, that is, they are molded pretty much the same as Tamiya's. In fact, you can substitute Tamiya tracks and Tim's on the same model, they fit together the same way. I have done this on a kit recently, to add several links with the EEC's missing to show damage.

And Tim's sets are straight, with no twists or bends that I have seen, and I have several of his sets, they are lovely to work with.

HTH, and Cheers, Pat

Outstanding Pat....

...and a worthy ad for Tims work, I'm promising myself the M4A4 conversion for a Firefly of my own as an early birthday present, my birthday isn't until February but all the same I gotta have one.

Really excellent job.

Regards.

Camo Net.

September 3 2009, 2:47 AM

Hi Pat

Superb Sherman as usual. A question and request if you don't mind.

Q. What did you use to make the Camo net on the hull front and engine deck?

Request. Black background to photos. I find your photos of the unpainted AFVs really useful reference . So I print them off and file them for future use. Is it possible to have a couple of unpainted photos on a white background. The black background just eats the printer ink, and makes the white backgound is easier to study the AFV when printed. I understand the black looks better on screen.

Not trying to cause you any hassel.

Cheers
Andrew
