Hi Greg , I have the Tiger set and the 2 NCO sets for the 502nd Abt. They are very nice figures and will paint up well. I wish Takahashi would do more happy.gif

greg,

I have some of these. They are nice. They seem to be very tall though compared to say Gasoline Figures. If they go inside a vehichle not a problem, but need to be careful when using with other figures. Might work well with Dartmoor because they seem tall also.

Ok, thanks guys that helps. I like the Dartmoor/Legends/AOW size figures so this sounds good to me. Maybe I'll try some from HLJ.

Anyone order from this company before? They seem to have them at 50% off.

I have a couple of these figures. They are very nicely sculpted, but look way too huge and out of scale.. not only compared to other 1/48 figures, but when I put them next to Tamiya's 1/48 Tiger.. the Tiger looks like a really small tank next to them.

As for Hobbysearch, they give good dependable service. You can also find them at www.hlj.com in Japan.

Cheers

Hi Greg,

I've ordered from Hobby Search quite a few times and they are reputable. They do a very good job of packing kits; they use very sturdy and brand new cardboard boxes, so you will know whose fault it is if the box gets crushed.

I'm not sure what they charge for overseas shipments, but they do give you a slight discount from the MSRP which is more than HLJ usually does. They won't accept backorders, however.

I used a couple of sets of their figs and while they are nice, the quality of the casting was not. Infact only 1/2 of the figures I bought were usable.

So they are too tall and large and made of fair casting. Doesn't sound they are worth the asking prices of $9 each. I think Dartmoor is the safer bet then. Thanks for all comments.

Hi Greg , just a FYI. I am still half asleeep so forgive the state of the pix. I lined up the figures I could making sure the soles of their feet were as inline as possible and this is how they look happy.gif

Here's a couple of pics of one of the figures I have on Tamiya's King Tiger. I thought it looks too big.. unless my impression of the size of the King Tiger is mistaken. Does it look normal?

I think they'd be great for a NBA basketball team in 1/48 though
