LF 1/48 US Infantry Early War for a Pearl Harbor attack Dio. My idea was a 1/48 US Soldier firing a rifle at a passing Zero or Val. Soldier wearing doughboy helmet and in summer fatigues or t-shirt. Can't find anything at all close. Even looked for parts from various figures to build my own... any thoughts? Ted

I would look at some aircraft or tank mechanics figures as these might be able to be painted as a prewar GI. The head/helmet can come from a Brit (no net though!). The weapon can be a BAR, an M1 or an M1903 (perhaps adapted from a Mauser?). Shoes with leggins could be "borrowed" from a Tamiya GI.

You can get a T shirt torso from the modern USAF ground crew set from Ertl (the kit with the bomb loader, towing vehicle and whatever else.)

I have an extra I'd dig out for you if you can't find the kit, although Venture Hobbies( they have a site) has one on the shelf , I think.

Let me know. BTW, you furnished me with an idea, so I owe you but don't even know you.

Regards,
Patrick ...from Chicago
