Tim: Re: your "full tank kit" to be released soon, I object to your marketing strategy. Stop the tease. Can you at least give us a few hints? I bet it is going to be something mainstream like the A39 Tortoise heavy assault tank, or the TOG Mk II heavy tank with 6 pdr gun turret, or perhaps the Tetrarch light tank Mk VII fitted with duplex drive kit. Oh, come on, you can tell us! Can we assume it is going to be British?
Tim, lad (TM). He's always secretly admired WWI tanks, and because he hates them Nazi tanks, a WWI tank was just what the doctor ordered. I'd look for something big and boxy, and built on a Holt tractor chassis.....
In the England I remember (sometime shortly after the Norman Conquest) backgarden sheds, usually brick, had a far different function--and I don't mean those corrugated steel and earth structures our fathers and uncles dug in the back yard, thanks to those nasty Nazi buggers.
Electrics to get plumbed in (?) and then all the shelves, table, blinds, lighting, alarm, lathe etc to shift. Quite a day! Oh, it is 12 ft x 8 ft (3.6m x 2.4m) by the way, supplied by an outfit whose web-site is www.proworkshop.co.uk . A thoroughly excellent little company to trade with; usual disclaimers, no commercial links, just a very satisfied customer!
Tim
PS "Two Sheds" has a certain ring to it, but I don't think my wife would want to change her name to Pauline.....

Two Sheds... is paraphrasing the nickname of one of our many buffoon politicians, a certain Mr John Prescott, who acquired the nickname 'Two Jags' after he and his wife Pauline, took SEPERATE Jaguar Limos to drive 250 yards from their (5 star) hotel to the party conference. Apparently, it was windy and she didn't want her hair messed up. Nothing in itself, but you must understand Prescott has risen through the socialist ranks by 40 years of railing against the fat exploiting capitalist exploiters of the working classes. Now, having just retired as Deputy to the sainted Tony Blair, (soon to be King of Europe by all accounts...) he and his wife live in the kind of luxury the people that voted for him can only dream about. Worse, he still sees himself as a working class hero. Ugh.
Anyone read Animal Farm by George Orwell? I'll say no more.....
My apologies for treading on anyones political sensibilities, but Pete did ask!
The device Tim posted is Praying Mantis a one man self propelled machine gun carrier. Driven when lowered and raised to fire over walls etc. Running gear is Universal Carrier based.
As to the secret project I'd love a WW1 tank but suspect something else. Maybe a Ram tank?
Or, it is a reference to that humourous Monty Python sketch, Arthur "two sheds" Jackson whereby the interviewer goes on at length about his guest's having once considered getting a second shed for his garden. But seriously, Tim, can you tell us WHEN you are prepared to let us know what the new offering is?
I am getting dizzy with all the directions this thread is taking, not to mention really amused, but I really love that shed - a thing of beauty Tim. I think Cupid got me on that one.
its a nice shed but whats the new kit im more curious about that .Has that churchill finaly come to being or may be its the t 66 track or maybe its a centar conversion for the cromwell. have fun tim wayne
...inside of which there would be a model of the model of the shed. And so on ad infinitum!
Guys, sorry, I'm not going to be able to announce anything solid this year, as some of you already know 2009 has been quite a difficult one for the Perry Clan, particularly with regards the failing health of my father. As Son Number 1, I've had a great deal of 'stuff' to deal with, and Fighting 48th! has had to take a bit of a back seat. However, as you have all seen, workshop space has been acquired, and once it is fitted out I will be getting back to work on several projects already started. The Old Man is now settled in his nursing home, so things should start getting back to something like normal, whatever normal is!
Ref the Churchill project, that is the closest to completion, but I had some problems with the running gear which I hope are now sorted, but there is still a lot of work to do; there is another project where all the CAD work is done, which will be next, but that will have to wait. So I'll keep schtum on that until it is ready, or Tamiya beat me to the draw.
I need all those Churchill tracks from you to finish a bunch of my Brit and Commonwealth Shermans. I think you guys used more Churchill tracks in the Shermans as applique armor than you did on Churchills.....
Whoa...Did I miss something here? Churchill tracks...are these going to be available for purchase anytime soon. I have an orphaned Aurora Churchill that I have been laboring to figure out what the heck I'm going to use for tracks. The availability of some kind of Churchill track, any kind, and particularly of F48' quality would be most welcome. Tim, if you happen to read this...I could sure use some of those Austin k5 tires that you are doing; my Bandai ones are pure crap. Chris Schwach
Sorry guys for not replying recently, but having had months of dealing with my fathers failing health, on Friday my hale-and-hearty 80-year-old mother fell and broke her arm, and my brother and our respective families have been dealing with the repercussions. Parents, eh?!!! I blame the children of course...
Just right now, my plate runneth over, so I'm going to be off air for a few days. Keep my place, I'll be back shortly. And George, don't read this, OK?
