Aber

hi Paul
The new Aber MG barrels are the armoured sleeve version for the Hull or sometimes seen on the cupola AA MG position. However they do not APPEAR to have the cooling cuts outs on the top and bottom. They are in the 1/35 version so it could just be the photo or beyond the manufacturing capability as so small. Links below

On German tanks with cupola-mounted AA MGs.....

October 28 2009, 11:59 AM

the AA MG34 was the coaxial MG from the gun mantlet in normal use, and as a result it would have the armored barrel casing. If you show the cupola mounted MG34, leave off the coaxial gun muzzle, UNLESS the reference photo of your subject tank shows all three guns installed. Obviously crews could acquire extra MG34s, and no doubt some did, but the norm was to use the coaxial gun from the turret gun mount. Mention this to judges in contests, or some of them may ding you for not including the coax MG. sad.gif
