My son is 12 years old. He has C.P.,epilepsy, he is non-verbal and non-ambulatory. He is fed tolerex via a j-tube. He is on many meds and all of his needs have to be anticipated and met by an adult. This is due to a bad dose of a DPT shot at 3 months. I was single and taught in a rural districy during the first year of his life. I found 2 wonderful people to job share his daycare. When he was a year old I moved back to civilization and taught school in the city. I couldn't find a daycare who would take him because of frequent seizures(Infantile Spasms). My parents decided to try it. They loved it, they love him and I've gone to work knowing my son was being taken care of by people who truly care for him. I know this is not the norm, but because of the difficulty in finding daycare, this worked for me.
