There are no synapses between the spinal cord and the effector in the SMNS.
But there is one synapse between the spinal cord and the effector in the ANS.

9.2
The autonomic ganglia are close to the spial cord in the sympathetic division.

The ganglion is close to the spinal cord.

The parasympathetic division.

It would be a visceral receptor and a mechanoreceptor.

The doctor would ask the patient if he/she feels the pinprick.

Pain receptor are nociceptors. The projection said the pain was in the foot. The modality told you it was pain.

Free nerve endings are thermoreceptors. And the rest of the cutaneous receptors are mechanoreceptors.

Sniffing brings the air up to the top part of the nasal cavity where the receptors are.

In a head cold its often hard to smell. And since the sense of taste and the sense of smell are so closely related the sense of taste is not the same as when the sense of smell is at its peak.
