Mustang drop...

Several people have mentioned how bad the stance is on these latemodel Mustangs, I agree. Car handles great but I do notice more body roll then I'd like, so decided to drop it 1.5" all around, and throw some better control arms in it to get rid of the wheelhop that shows up in 1-2 gear pretty regularly. Did the rear a couple Saturdays ago in 103* heat, doing the front tonight.

Looks worse in person, 3.5" between tire and fender as I measured it...4x4 stance

Stupid to tear down brand new car? Maybe, but you only live once, nice to work on though...

Put new adjustable control arm and mount in it so I can adjust pinion angle, worse part of the install as axle and exhaust are completely in the way, and there is no good way to reach if you keep the axle in the car. Working solo so I didn't want to drop the axle, if I did it again...I would drop it. Anyway...new versus OEM

Have to take the seat out to get to top bracket bolt

Torque to 129ft-lbs...I may have cheated to 130 =)

Drop swaybar and shocks to get to let the springs drop out
[IMG][linked image][/IMG]

Funny enough, new springs were same height as OEM...guess they just compress more
[IMG][linked image][/IMG]

Stock lower arms are single ply stamped steel with the edges rolled...pretty flimsy although I'd guess they're plenty strong in the vertical plane. Tons of bind with the rubber bushings against the steel frame on these...

OEM vs aftermarket stuff...chromoly arms saved 7lbs total...no big deal but surprising
[IMG][linked image][/IMG]

Control arm installed, crappy pic
[IMG][linked image][/IMG]

Done...hard to really tell from this angle, but it's tucked nicely
