Well guys, im thinking about buying a computer programer for my Mustang. Ive narrowed it doen to the two here:

The guy at Jegs said it will give an average of 1 to 2 MPG increase of ful mialage... I would like to know what that is in Cananian KmPL please (If any of you know)


Also, what will the 20 hp and 20 fpt gain do for my car in the 1/4, is this thing realy worth the wile?

Keep in mind that one of the ways programmers boost HP is through a timing bump, which often necessitates premium fuel. If so, you can more than kiss the 2 mpg savings goodbye...

2 Mpg when put on that setting.

Realisticley, what will 20 HP do to the car? speed and time wise?


I think this and a nice little supercharger would be nice in the future.

The programmer for our truck was cheaper & made more horsepower. I would do some more searching myself

Well, calculating through my mileage with my Galaxie, ~13 MPG (I think, speedo is slightly off, but numbers work for argument)... 25 gal tank. At 13 MPG range is 325 mi at 15 MPG range is 375 mi. Gas today at a local station here is for 87 octane $2.79/gal while 93 octane is $2.93/gal. Do the math and at 13 MPG on 87 octane you get $.215 per mile and with 15 MPG on 93 octane you get $.195 per mile. So there you have it. Of course as your MPG increases you get diminishing returns in money saves per MPG increase. Not sure waht kind of MPG Ed's Mustang gets now but it'd be easy for him to do the math and see if the switch to premium fuel is worthwhile given the price spread in his area.

Ummm, 1 tank can get me 550 ish Km driving easly on a better bronse grade fuel. Silver is a little better but I only went about half tank till I filled with bronse again.

Again, what do you figure the 20 hp and fpt will do?
