Well, Im sure most of you know I take my 97 3.8 auto stang to the track now the odd now and again. Ordered a computer tuner for the car and I now have a new personal best.

This particular run:

.9191 RT (best of night/ ever was .7691) Difference of .123
2.5508 60' (best of night/ ever was 2.2950) Difference of .2558
10.976 1/8 et (best of night/ ever was 10.9599) Difference of .0071
65.01 1/8 mph (Best of night/ ever)
***17.0059 1/4*** (best of night/ ever)
***82.84 mph*** (best of night/ ever)

Sooooo If all the stars and moon alligned subtracting my total differences (.3859) from my overall 1/4 mile et (17.0059) my car "should be able to go" 16.62 not counting a "good" reaction time.

It should be able to but it hasent yet so its still a almost 17 even car untill it actually goes 16.anything.

Just somthing I wanted to share with y'all

Looks like the programmer definitely made an improvement... even with the bad RT and the slower 60ft, you had caught your previous best by the 1/8th and obviousy everything after the 1/8th was all gain. I'm not sure if your track is the same way, but at the track I race at, your ET is your actual ET from when you start rolling, not from when the light turns green. So your difference in RT wouldn't make any difference in your ET, although if you could get that extra 2 tenths off your 60ft that'd be good for 3-4 tenths at the end of the 1/4. Not bad for a V6 'stang!

Right now I think it may be best if I leaned out my fuel from first to second gear. Right now its at +12% or 15% at wide open throttle all the way through. If I bring it down to about 8% I think it may be better off the line and in the 1/8. I still need to figure out what one last modificational paramater is on the programmer, I may still have more potential in the car as is... Unfortunatley I wont able to get to the track before I leave to Alberta, hopefully I can get to one there or find another around here somewhere within the next few weeks.

Don't have to be the fastest to have the most fun..... The slower cars have more time to have more fun going down the track!

At least that's what I tell these 8 second guys that complain about my car taking up too much time on the track! LOL...
