Oop's the link did not work as planned. Let me try again. Here it is as copied from the web site (not written by me).

8/14/07 Free Press front page article:Hitting the Road? Check your plates. Can you believe this??? Royal Oak P.D. chief Ted Quisenberry wants to ticket classic vehicles with state historical plates on them who cruise BEFORE Saturday saying the plates are only for special events, parades, or car shows NOT nightly cruising leading up to the Dream Cruise. IS THIS GUY A MORON OR WHAT????
As much as cruisers hate Royal Oak he now has gone the extra mile to alienate anyone who wants to cruise and have a great time in his little kingdom of a city. I earlier asked if Pontiac was THE place to be for cruising and now the answer appears to be a resounding YES. Why go through or near Royal Oak to get this kind of descriminatory treatment. Does he invoke the noise law for loud decibel exhaust pipes from many of the biker's cycles???
THIS GUY IS A PIECE OF WORK who wants nothing more than to throw his public "weight" around. My feelings about him, his P.D. and his city - avoid them like the plague.
People need to petition the Michigan Department of Police to have this guy's head examined as he may be a mental threat to the health and welfare of the citizenry of Royal Oak!!! Ted why not focus on catching the real "bad guys" like you were appointed to do rather than making it your career to try to dampen the fun of good ole USA car enthusiasts??? I never saw anyone who took one event and turned it into their own personal media show. Get real chief!!!

PA Antique Plates are good for hobby use and occasional pleasure driving.

The restriction is that the vehicle is not to be used for "normal" transportation. That is, it's not supposed to be a daily driver or even a "backup" daily driver.

ANY activity that is connected to hobby, pleasure, or even servicing the vehicle is allowed. I've NEVER been stopped for Antique Tags. And if I was I am simply taking the car for a front end alignment, or I'm taking it to NAPA so they can match up the battery, or I'm taking it to a remore storage facility, or I'm taking to an "expert" for an insurance appraisal, or any of a hundred valid reasons to be driving the car.

You're just NOT going to work, going to the store, or even going out for dinner or the movies. You are ALWAYS on a hobby /service/pleasure oriented mission.

I would recommend the Michigan drivers get a copy of the Motor Vehicle Code and show it to the dumb ass who stops them for Historical Tags.
