I got a '79 CR250 Elsinore and my buddy got an '82 Yamaha IT465. Gonna get 'em cleaned up and tuned up and go riding on Sunday. Should be a lot of fun! Definitely an upgrade for me over my XR200, and my buddy had been riding a Yamaha Blaster (200cc 2 stroke quad). I'll stick with Honda, but as far as Yamaha goes his new bike should be pretty kick-ass, though it is heavier than my bike and feels more bulky sitting on it. I guess we'll see what's what when we ride this weekend. I'll snap some pics tomorrow and post them!

Of 3 bikes I owned the last was a 250 Elsinore - can't really compare to todays bikes but I really liked it.

OMG! At age 18 I had a 78 CR 250R Elsinore, we bored it out a bit and mad it the fastest bike in teh friggin world.. (to us young kids anyway)

Cool. Last fall I sold my '75 Honda 250 Elsinore. That thing sure could take a beating. It was in awsome shape. A friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I said bye bye. My dad has a '75 that has all the street legal stuff chopped, only problem is he took the carb off for cleaning and misplaced it about 10 years ago. I'm hoping he will get sick of looking at it and give/sell it to me. I make sure to tell him that every time I see it.

Well unfortunately I didn't get to do any work on the Elsinore today. Worked well over 12 hours then went to cruise night pretty late and just got home. Tomorrow is another day. Going junkyarding in the AM for parts to finish getting my convertible on the road and in the afternoon to Wilwood bike fest (100-130 thousand bikes, at the shore). Then gonna head home and we're gonna work on the dirt bikes tomorrow night. I just gotta pick up some levers for it, they are cheesy plastic ones now. I know they'll break in no time.
