There's not much to see. New floors are in and the resto shop I'm using has started working smoothing the outer panels. I've been searching in vain for a cowl/firewall and trunk channel before we delve into those areas. Looks like we'll be fabbing some stuff up, patching some others. I expressed my concern to the owner the other day about not being able to find the stuff we need and he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "no biggie, we'll just make em." We're shooting for a late spring/early summer reveal. We'll see.
I'll get some updated pics the next time I'm over to the shop.
They're to clear the stud girdles with the present valve covers. I'm replacing the VC's so I'm not sure if I'll need the spacers with the new ones or not.
Those look like Moroso covers, if so mine cleared on 3 different engines. I just traded the chrome ones for some blue ones & they fit on the dragster...

You don't quit playing because you get old; you get old because you quit playing!
Here's a question - how long is too long for an engine to sit after you build it? I haven't done the build on mine yet because at the rate I'm going I don't know when I'll be ready to fire it up, but I'd like to get all the stuff for it out of my house and onto a stand!
I intend to oil the cylinders through the spark plug holes and then crank it ov4r by hand before start up. I'll also prime the oil pump and get good pressure before startup as well. Just simple precautionary stuff. All it costs is a little time.
That's good to know. I'm getting a little pressure to get some of the parts out of the house so I really need to get mine built. Wedding is in 3 weeks and I think that whole bachelor room I have going is about to meet its end . . .
It's probably a safe bet that all of the "Bachelor" areas of your home will disappear! Unless of course you have been lucky enough to find a woman who is as into cars as you are. Pretty rare would be my guess and probably prone to change in the not too distant future. Just remember that what it all usually comes down to is whatever she wants better be what you want too or there will be trouble brewing. Beyond that I wish you well and many happy years together!
Good luck with the build-up.
