need 289 piston help

I'm taking a b&m supercharger off my 289 and putting on a airgap eblebrock as far as I no I have 8.5 bm blower pistons in my motor will that make a big dift. in performance than if it had 10.0? the heads have big valves and it has a nice cam in it and it has supercomp headers on it which I don't like"they take up to much room",and on the part that faces the motor it says mexico.well anyway do you guys think these blower pistons will work ok for me I already have trouble starting it when its warm,so I didn't really want to go bigger unless its really going to be a big dog.

The lower compression will affect the low-end and midrange more than the top end. You may want to do a compression test to see how much cranking compression you've got. This will give you an idea if you are grossly low or not.

How big is the cam? Lots of engines came stock with 8:1 and they run fine (not real screamers, but they crank over, idle and drive no problem). You'll obviously be giving up some power, but I don't think it's gonna make it a total slug unless you've got a pretty big cam.

not sure of the size of the cam I haven't torn the engine down yet.I only removed the supercharger and heads so far.it has a nice lope to it,infact its hard to drive in ist gear across a parking lot.the guy I bought it from said its 524 lift,but I don't no.
