That's a late 56 Medalist. The early 56 Medalist was a very bare bones stripper with minimal exterior trim and no stainless mouldings around the windshield. This is the later improved version.

The dyno sheet looks bit bogus to me. It says it was dyno tested with a 750 Holley, but there are two old castles on a 56 dual quad intake. Together they MIGHT flow 700 on a real good day. And look at that torque curve! Not much below 4 grand. And then look at the 7000 rpm peak HP! A 7 grand Y-block....well maybe, but a 7 grand Y-block that makes power through those weenie exhaust manifolds???

Hey, whatever......it's a cool ride with the stick/overdrive.

Screwy dyno sheet or not, that Merc just exudes 'trip car'. I wonder how many crates of Mason jars she'll hold?

"A 7 grand Y-block....well maybe, but a 7 grand Y-block that makes power through those weenie exhaust manifolds." Last time I saw a 7000 RPM "Y" block it was already in pieces That'll teach me to scroll down!

He says it has a 348" Y block engine @ 380 HP.

The Dyno sheet says it's for a 292" @ 371 HP.

Me thinks he has a mix up. But then again he didn't say the Dyno specs are for that engine.
