Cool looking car. When I read the description I thought "8-volt" was a misprint or mistake but then looking at the pics I see it is a 4 cell battery? I didn't know anyone used 8-volt systems in any cars.

We were talking about the 8 volt battery at work. One of the guys said his father bought one new and they would put 8 volt batteries in them because with the 6 volt from the factory, the car was hard to start in the winter. Id take that with grain of salt but its as good of an explaination as any.
It is cool. If that's a 51, I'd say Dodge was about two to three years behind the styling curve at that point in time. The price is pretty workable for a solid foundation for a street rod.
Actually lead-acid cells are 2.2 volts each so that battery is really 4 X 2.2 or....... 8.8 volts. A more common 12-volt as in most modern cars is 13.2 volts and the old 6-volt batts were 6.6 volts at full charge, but you all knew that already, right?
