Rick, is that response in regards to the car, or the "1976 Comt"

Did you happen to notice the BOSS 429 in one of the pics?

He also has a 64 lightweight Galaxie on the block and a Superbird type thing. With "0" feedback I think I would have make a personal visit before I layed out any green.

Re: dual quad 428 SCJ mustang.

The Q code mustang was the standard CJ428 not the SCJ as far as I know.SCJ should be R code usually with the shaker hood scoop...Also looks like a tunnel port 427 intake..Cetainly not factory 428 stuff.

Actually it's a tunnel wedge intake that fits medium riser heads. Still not an original 428 piece though.

I don't know what that intake is but I do know that this car has the proper W axle code for an SCJ. SCJs were CJs ordered with either the V or W axle code denoting either a 3.91 or a 4.30 rear gear ratio. When you ordered the steep ratio, you got the LeMans rods and the oil cooler, etc. designed to keep the thing together. I'm no authority, but I do believe that the Supers can be R code ram air or Q code non ram air. Well, now that I wrote that, I have to go and check it on www.428cobrajet.org
Here you go...
428 Super Cobra Jets were available both with ram air induction (identified with VIN engine code "R") and with a standard air cleaner assembly (identified with VIN engine code "Q"). The engine code isn't what determines installation of a Super Cobra Jet engine; it's the rear end codes of "V" (3.91:1 Ford traction-lok) or "W" (4.30:1 traction-lok or Detroit Locker) that make the difference.

I don't care one bit about all that SCJ talk you guy's are sputtering about with, but I do know this...

The bottom of that car is as genuine as my lack of interest in the chevrolet Vega!

I agree Gary, that looks like new paint over dirt and grunge on the bottom of that car to me.

Well, my buddy went to look at the car. He owns a R code Fairlane among a stable of other cars. Says the car seems to be correct but they took a spray bomb to the bottom of the car. Now for the best part, the guy has a reserve of...............are you ready.................sit down, here it comes
$225,000.00
His opinion is that its a #3 condition car.
