Got a made up story e-mail froma friedn about an 11 year old girl killing some illegals who broke in the home, but found thsi true story when looking it up...
Switzer, S.C. — An 11-year-old boy who had been left alone after school
shot and killed two men as they tried to steal a videocassette recorder
from his family's home, police said.
William Todd Knight, the son of Billy and Ann Knight, "acted very wisely,"
said Spartanburg County Coroner Jim Burnett. "His life was in danger, he
looked for an escape and could not find one ... he was a very brave young
man."
Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department Capt. John Blackwood said the boy
was watching cartoons in his parents' bedroom Monday afternoon when he
heard noises at the front door of the family's brick, rancy-style home.
Tood told officers he was scared, so he went to his room for the
.22-caliber rifle his father had given him for Christmas and loaded four
rounds.
He then went to the front door and saw a man he described as "rough"
pounding on the door. The man finally left in a white Datsun.
Todd said he resumed watching cartoons and about 10 minutes later heard
banging, this time at a dining room window.
He saw two men climbing through the dining room window. The boy said he
went into the bathroom to climb out the window, but saw the white Datsun
was parked in the back yard.
Todd told police he went back to the hallway, peeked around the corner
into the den and was spotted by one of the intruders as they were taking
the VCR.
Todd then fired three rounds at the men, who dropped the VCR and fled.
When police arrived, one of the dead men was found face down next to a
woodpile in the back yard, approximately 50 to 75 feet from the house,
while the second man was in the driver's seat of the white two-door
Datsun.
Damn mature 11 year old.
Seems that if both men that Mr. Horn were less than 15 feet they were no longer at the neighbors unless the houses a pretty close together. If they would have stayed off Mr. Horns property the outcome may have been different.
People are tired of the criminals having all the rights. I have a concealed carry permit and hope I never get a chance to test it but think it is the best thing that has happened to the average law abiding citizen. The backround check went back to when I was 18 years old. Seems like the law would support this because it assures that anyone who has a concealed carry permit IS on the right side of the law. If more people had the permit and could make it known then a 'criminal would think twice before breaking the law.

is there not a town or few in texas where EVERYONE carries? As in it is the law that everyone must have a hand gun?
Kennesaw, Georgia, has a law requiring gun ownership. Geuda Springs, Kansas, is another one who had a similar law at one time. Not sure if either one still has them on the books, but I bet you could google it & find out.
Here it is too! What a load I knew it wasn't for anything but show...
In March 1982, responding to the passage of a handgun ban in Morton Grove, Illinois, and the fawning media coverage that accompanied it, the city council of Kennesaw, Georgia, decided to make a statement of its own. With exceptions duly made for convicted felons, the disabled, and those with religious objections, the council passed (unanimously) an ordinance requiring each head of household to own and maintain a gun.
The moment the story hit the wire services, a media invasion swept into Kennesaw, a small city on the northwestern frontier of suburban Atlanta. The telephones of council members began ringing off the hook. CNN called. Today called. The then-mayor, Darvin Purdy, went on Donahue
Interesting. Seems like here in NJ many people are afraid of guns and feel anyone who owns a gun is evil. Meh, I don't have any guns. I'd like to get into it some day but cars and bikes are plenty expensive for me and I don't need the aggrivation of dealing with NJ and gun ownership. This worthless state sucks enough out of me already.
