The quality of work is way much better than the previous workshop.
I have also picked the right shade of black.
It will be finished at the end of this month.

Smooth!! I can't wait 'till mine gets to that stage. What "black" are you going with? I've been real impressed with some of the metallic blacks available the past few years..

I wont be having metallic black, just plain black.
SUPER shiny, deep black, I can't really describe it. If you see a top of the range black BMW, that's how close it's going to be.

I remember when I did mine that I kinda liked the look of primer on those, brings back good memories. Looks like you'll be sportin' around town just in time for good weather

Lookin good Kermit - that's exciting stuff!  Rick, I have the same affection for clean primer.  With this car I'm working on I kind of hate to paint it at all, so I think I'm going with kind of a metallic grey/silver since the primer has grown on me so much.

What was wrong with the old paint? I thought it looked really nice before.

I wondered what you were up to. I haven't seen you on Stangnet lately.

What happened to the engine? Did you end up with the efi?

James,

The old paint was ...well.... shite. Oh it looked good from a few feet away, but close up....
I'm still posting on Stangnet, I'm in the TCP G-bar post and the Retrotek EFI post.
I wasn't able to get the Megasquirt 1 running, the CPU of the MS1 is not fast enough to deal with my engine.
Some people do manage to get a 4 banger running with it, but it doesn't work with my engine.
I will be installing the Microsquirt soon, which is based on the Megasquirt 2.

To bad you live "across the pond". The car sounds like it's going to be really nice. I'd like to see it.

You can't have much more to do on the car. What's left?

What's left?

February 21 2008, 2:35 AM

16" wheels
bigger brakes all around
install the supercharger
install the EFI (for the 4th time.....)
TCP G-bar rear suspension
....
....

one week on, news:

February 21 2008, 12:47 PM

I had to go and check on the progress of the respray today.
They have finished the dry and wet block-sanding (or whatever you call it).

They will spray the car this coming saturday.

Yes, I still have to do all that
However, I don't think I'll do anything this year as I need to save some money.
As you know (or may not), my respray budget as doubled....
