Not that it's possible for any of you to think less of me than you already do, but, would you guys think less of me if I just brought the bike?

Good rates at Red Roof....47.49 TWT and 52.49 FS

I guess the lack of a big car guy crowd last year caused them to drop the "Special Event" rates.

Seems like fewer long distance people are coming last few years. The Fairfield over on Stevenson Highway used to packed with old cars. Last year there were just a very small handful. I remember a few years at Red Roof we had a hell of a time finding a place to park all the trailers. Sure wasn't a problem last year!

I guess it's the gas prices but I just can't imagine that a few bucks for gas would affect it that bad. Basically gas price has doubled in three years from around 1.50 gallon to 3.00 gallon. So unless you're REALLY long distance, say you paid 100 for gas three years ago now it will cost you 200.

My round trip is about 1000 miles. At 1.50 gallon the trip cost me about $105. At $3.30 gallon it will cost me about $231. Hum-de-Dum. I guess I'll eat at McDonalds instead of the Steakhouse. Or stop at Farmer Jacks and buy some Bread and Bologna...........

Last thing I heard was that some of the crew were going to park at Vermeesch's on Friday and Saturday but Chuck is bailing early on Saturday AS USUAL so I'm not sure.

I don't think anyone had paid yet. We were on a call list from Vermeesch.

Did we just get lucky on Friday last year? I remember you guys renting the Arby's lot for a cpl. years before I met you all 2 years ago. I recall that you and I and Bill and Greg and Jerry and his Dad kinda staked a claim at the spot last year on Friday. Saturday must be a totally different story.

Doug FFF, a special treat for you.....how about a 100 mph ride down 11 Mile with no seat belt? I always like to pay back my "debts"....

Oh, if anyone isn't familiar with 11 Mile Road, it's a not too wide street with a 30 mph speed limit.

Yes, Douglas, I owe you at least that!

Chuck,

I'm sending a more substantial payment than Jimmy. Hows $500 sound?

I'm sending a check my Nigerian friend sent as payment to me. It is made out for $4500, just cash it and keep $500 for the ride fund, and send a cashiers check back to me for the $4000 balance.
