As some of you know from my exploits behind Arby's I have a problem with throwing alternator belts, well... had. I bought a sweet gilmer drive for it & it was SUPPOSED to be for a 460... not even close. It had the obligatory 1/2" hole for the water pump, I chucked it up in the lathe & made it 3/4". Power steering lined up nice but the alternator was over 1" off... no biggie, I wanted to move it up anyway. Got it done & zinged it to about 7200 RPM & she's still there, yipee!

Glad it didn't fall off... But it's still askew slightly... Do you got one of them crookedeye's like Marty Feldman?

Pullies do not need to line up the same on a gilmer drive system. As long as the belt is in the grooves & doesn't hit anything it's all good, just like a roots supercharger. FWIW I had Lorrie check out the power steering belt alignment since she has $2000 eyes

Wow that's a hefty setup for an alternator...No way that belt is going to squeal!

Made me think of that song... "She's got Bette Davis Eyes" It must make you feel real good to know she can really see the good things in you Rick.

I dunno, I bet she still has to squint sometimes...
