I probably know the answer but.....Im looking for someone to say "sure Chuck, it"ll be just fine"
The trans in the Gal started to leak real bad when I started it up last week. I posted that I couldnt locate the leak at the time, so today I wiped the bottom of the trans off and started the car. I waited, and waited, finally after 4 minutes there was a slight amount of seepage at the bottom of the bellhousing. Crap
I let it idle for about another 5 minutes and nothing futher leaked out, nothing even hit the garage floor. Now this is puzzling since I had a good size puddle under the car after only a few minutes when I started it up last week.
I took it for about a 5 mile ride, parked it , nothing, dry as a bone. Went for a 1/2 hour walk, came back, still dry.
Now here is where you guys are supposed to tell me "it'll be just fine"
What do you guys think.
With the motor swap, taking the trans out isnt going to be any fun. The headers have to come out, I dont have a torch, so I may very well have to cut them off and spend about 4 bills for new ones, and who knows when the guy will get around to building them, it could be months.
Is it possible (probable) that the front seal dried up over the winter and now swelled up and seald again? Or is it wishfull thinking on my part.
